The salvo 12 can has rods that run the length of the can. Those rods act as a rail for the wad that helps stabilize the shot as it runs through the can. the guy that loaded the demo shotgun put rifled slugs in it. Instead of plastic wadding hitting those rods, the slug was contacting it the normal way a bullet would land in barrel rifling. Rifled slugs have rifled patterns in the slug itself, makes it spin in a smooth bore barrel. Lots of friction = what you see in the video.
