The Timney alpha is a true SAO conversion for Glock

They are p damn nice

And there’s some aftermarket that even works specifically for the alpha triggers

Uses your normal FCG housing and connector, swaps the crossifix bar, trigger and springs

And they are prob one of the most reliable aftermarket triggers period

I'm trying my best not to turn this into a wall of text but I'm struggling a little bit, there's a few things you got to take into account here, one is that tighter tolerances by themselves are inherently more prone to malfunctioning under suboptimal conditions that's just a fact. The other is what gain do you get from having a crisper, lighter trigger in a self defence situation, what ranges are we drawing and shooting at under pressure for the OEM trigger to not be good enough and will an aftermarket trigger change the outcome?

To the point where a slight loss of reliability is worth the risk versus running the stock trigger.

You got to ask yourself what problem does a comp trigger solve and how is it relevant to the situation that the gun is going to be used in.

my glock is my everything gun, so ive just added a brass plug, G34 OEM controls, taller OEM sights, grip tape, optic+light and a glock performance trigger (which ive been using for the last few thousand rounds but have very mixed feelings on)

i like the feel of the GPT but dont enjoy needing to clean it every ~1k rounds or so

its reliable enough that im not worried to carry it, but it does take up some space in the back of my head because i know if i run it for a few comps in a row without cleaning itll get gritty and heavier

for my rifle its just a DDM4 upper with an H2, sprinco blue, magpul furniture, and a trigger, otherwise its a basic bitch lower

If you like the sights and the trigger go for it (for 600), but then again you could buy an unmodified one and pick the trigger and sights you like.

It has to do with the distance between the rear sight and front sight. The further the distance between the two fixed points makes weapon systems more accurate. The longer the distance the less deviation a “miss” has. That’s why pistol shooting is inherently more difficult than rifle shooting. It has a much shorter sight radius (shorter distance between the two fixed points) making sight misalignment have much greater consequences. The Aug has a very short sight radius for a rifle round making it a poor choice as weapon for gunfighting imo
