Unless you're running a switch the practicality of ported slides, barrels, comps are questionable at best.

A little more weight never hurts though so I guess a comp would be your best bet in that case.

I used to compete in ipsc and I think a lot of people tend to focus too much on the gun instead of their form and don't spend enough time actually shooting.. weight does however matter in my opinion and especially plastic framed pistols benefit from additional weight not the opposite.

A custom tuned shadow 2 with a high end barrel, polished chamber, trigger job, comp springs, porting, extended feed ramp etc is at the end of the day not playing a major part in how fast or accurate you are unless you are competing at the highest levels where you're already close to your full potential physically and mentally.

Absolutely. For me, I bought the Glock 34 as first handgun, kind of "do it all". But that's because I went and spent the difference to the Shadow 2 on ammo. That first year at our club match I beat everyone except the president with 30+ years of experience and a Sig P210
