Point is, a stock mosin vs sv-98 isn’t a big deal. Neither makes landing shots any easier. Mosin is better for iron sights (imo) sv is better with an optic. Both will work Exceptionally well against any armor class in the game. Provided you can land your shots.
The same cannot be said of T-46M vs SNB

I'm late to the discussion on sv98 vs mosin etc, i saw some ammo talk i just wanna say i firmly believe that 7n1 is better than SNB in all cases. 7n1 will pen most all helmets people use, and will one tap low armored players in torso. While sure SNB can go thru all body armors while 7n1 gets shit on by tier 6... youre using bolt actions youre going for headshots 90% of the time, since even SNB takes two to the torso to kill a player
which isnt fun when youre using a bolty, youre gonna be trying to get headshots even when youre using SNB. (SNB in a svd is fuckin brutal tho. Really where the round shines)

Your character doesn't automatically mount the gun, you have to use the adaptive crouch to do it yourself. If you're only just able to see over cover with your sight, then it's safe to assume you can't shoot over it.

A friend of mine uses canted sights to do what you're trying to do, it kinda helps mitigate the hob problem. Some spots it works, others it's just too high.

I also definately wouldn't call Tarkov a simulator, even once it gets all of its planned features in it'll be a lot more like Squad or something like Enlisted. Realistic feeling, but trimming some features to keep it playable
