There's no refunds so be careful, feel free to try it out when there's a sale by buying the cheapest version. You can always upgrade by paying the difference between whatever edition you get and which you want. But yea, with PvE and Arena the wipes die faster than ever leaving behind only the cheaters and the hyper sweats

A different perspective:

Just buy the standard edition. You can always upgrade if you find that you enjoy the game. That's what I did. But I do recommend waiting for a sale if you can be patient. Because who doesn't wanna save money?

While cheaters are most definitely an issue in Tarkov (at least, a bigger issue than in other games), it's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. People claiming that "there are cheaters everywhere" or "every person I die to is a cheater" probably just suck at the game. 😁
At least, from my experience, suspicious deaths to suspicious accounts is a rare occurrence.

And yes, the game is very slightly pay-to-win, but those aspects really only apply to the start of each wipe because higher edition players will start with better gear. At this point in the wipe, it won't affect you. The other part is that higher editions get bigger secure containers. While this is very useful, it won't necessarily increase your headshot percentage. And through the game, you can unlock new secure containers that have more space; it just isn't given to you immediately on start.

And yes, you will die a lot. I still do. But that's just the Tarkov experience.

the only real p2w aspect would be the guns at the beginning of a wipe, even then its easy enough to die with them to someone who has the standard edition, the more experience you have the less it affects you. and for the trader rep you gain a bit of an advantage but again the more experienced you get the slimmer they windows get. You get slightly better armour and ammo before someone else which again is a slim to none advantage

As someone who refuses to give BSG more money, it's almost unplayable at standard edition even if you know what you're doing.
