my current boot drive ssd is gen 4 which is placed on that gen 4 slot but i recently ordered a 990 pro which is alsogen 4 so how will it affect its reads and writes if i were to place it in the Gen 3 slot

swap it - run ur OS and random shit off the old drive - all new games on new drive - but with a laptop, ur gonna run into more bottlenecks of a different part down the line but thats the best thing u can do
