Factory is nothing but combat- both PvP and PvE - in confined close quarters. No loot, few quests.
Customs is often suggested for new players, as it's a very well balanced map. There's loads of quests, lots of loot, it's easy to learn as the landmarks are distinct, the map has a great flow, and it's well balanced - but quite difficult no doubt.
Woods is also suggested if you just want to avoid dying. It's the least confrontational map, but also one of the hardest to learn because of the sparse landmarks and dense trees.
Reserve, Interchange, Lighthouse, and Shoreline are all maps I would suggest saving for at least your second map, and I wouldn't even concern yourself with Labs anytime soon.
