Find an extract and keep running further and further away until you can find it from anywhere on the map
Rinse and repeat

My question is: Is there a way that you can change the visual settings while actually being able to see the game? I've been going into the settings, changing, saving, and backing out, but it's hard to tell the actual effect the changes are having. It would be easier to determine the best settings for me if I could see the changes as I was making them.

Trying using extremes and adjust from there. Use the complete end of the spectrum and start to tone down settings when they get into extremes.
Pretty sure there's also a benchmarking type screen if you do it from the main menu

Yeah when I adjusted before it was very jarring to look at my screen. Everything was visible, but it looked like a very old and jagged experience. When watching other people play they had much more pleasing visuals so I'm just fine tuning at this point. I can figure it out from here. Thanks!
