Try reserve, it's usually a bit more laid back, easy scav extracts. PMCs are usually underground in the bunker or gone so you can mostly just loot up top and get out.

it works, you'll still get more xp, but it is much smaller than it should be. From here, the choice is yours. I leveled my strength with it active but you don't have to if you're short on money or aren't in a rush.
