"Expeditionary fuel tank" which has 60 durability. "Metal fuel tank" which has 100 durability. Durability is just how long they last, up to you which you want to use (I usually just buy mine from Jaeger or the flea, whichever is cheaper.. The metal one)

Yes its expensive, but you can turn the generator off when you're not crafting anything to save it for later.
You can also turn it off after starting your craft, the craft will continue, but at a way slower pace.
Lavatory does not require fuel at all!

No, that is an elite perk at lvl 51 Crafting, which allows you to do 2 crafts in 1 station - which most people don't reach :/
You can craft in every station at the same time though!

Honestly comes down to experience. Scavs have unique clothing, so using that as an identifier even if they have picked up a bunch of gear might help.
Using your scav voiceline F1 (or voip) to make them respond is vital, if they never respond, assume they are hostile, if you are worried about losing scav karma for killing someone you're unsure of.. run away!

pretty much any map you're comfortable with imo. Woods has tons of moonshine spawns, Interchange for tech items, Lighthouse for military items/valuables. Shoreline has easy cache routes that you will survive 90% of the time. Factory is fast if you're waiting for a group to get ready.

"Best" is subjective and dependent on how much map knowledge you have for caches and loot spawns

I would suggest using Offline mode to safely explore maps, perhaps turning on scavs "as online" to learn their locations as well.

Landmines mark the map border (with the exception of one small area) if you didn't know!
Also, having a map on a second monitor/device w/e works for you is highly recommended as well, if you're not already doing that.
Finally, doing the quest "Search Mission" from Prapor (on woods) unlocks the Compass, which can be a very powerful tool in figuring out where you are (especially if you use a map as reference)!

What you could do is to "do the quest" as a scav for practise, to see if you can figure out where you need to go - you could also practice the quest in offline mode while learning the map.

The only tasks you can do as a scav is where you need to find non-quest-specific-items, anything else has to be done on your PMC

So for instance "Hand over 3 Salewas" can be done with your scav. But "Hand over the bronze pocket watch" can not.

If you prioritize surviving it's not terribly difficult. 50% survival rate is very achievable if you avoid hotspots and slow roll out of spawn on maps outside of Factory/Reserve/Labs. And even then if you're optimizing for survival it's doable on those maps without too much headache if you're avoiding fights

There is a thing called zero, that number bottom right

That’s used to regulate the distance of your shots

If you are shooting someone at 100m, set it to 100 and aim exactly for their head.

A rangefinder could be useful

also generally speaking, when ur higher than ur target the bullet drop isnt that big, gives a bit of advantage

zeroing in is not required when using 7.62x51

it's because the 100 meters are zero'd for the "standard" bullet for a weapon, different bullets have different drop rates and different speed drop off rates. Hence, if you use a non-standard bullet,the zero might be off

zeroing put simply: bullets drop over distance, if you aim at point x and shoot at 200 meters (with zero at 0), you will hit below it. if you set at 200meters it will hit exactly where you were aiming.

it drops as it leaves the barrel, that setting of 50 will simply make the bullet drop curve intersect at 50

not quite, rather the bullet will be angled upwards, so the drop will make the bullet hit dead on at your zeroed range

Zeroing is distance that bullet will hit at centre of scope, so if u have gun zeroed for 50 meters and shoot at 50, aim like scope. If u have zeroed on 50m and shoot on 150 meters u have to zero gun or aim higher. Also every gun have different default ammo, so 7.62x51 mdr has m61, so zeroed gun on 50 meters shooting at 50 meters will be perfect. If u have m80, it will be slightly off, not much but a bit

in practice, bullets drop over distance, so you have to either aim higher, or set the zero value for distance to target, for your crosshair position to equate to the point where you will actually hit

changing zero on a "quick shot" can be cumbersome

if you're into lying down and scoping over a large area, it's nice to have a range table where you have pre-measured distances to common spots, so you can adjust the zero according to the target's position

there's even tarkov maps where you can overlay circles at 50 meter intervals to help you with that

you can use the dots on certain scopes to calculate ranges on the fly, with practise you can do it in your head or you sort of remember that if someone is X dots high, they are Y meters away

the bullet drop is kinda strange on tarkov since the zeroing is not intuitive and changes depending on whatever ammunition they used to zero the gun. It would make more sense if they used arbitrary 1-20 values and allowed you to zero your own gun in the hideout using whatever ammo you intend to use

Then 10-2 is the distance the target is at based on measuring their height in the scope. Then you can zero your scope or you can use the mil dots to adjust for the bullet drop
