fairly early for the car repair quest, theyre also used in your hideout, theyre an important item to keep IF YOU CAN, but they arent impossible to find so if you have to sell them its not the end of the world

That way you can watch the hallway and the stairs. You would've had an advantage if the guy came into the hallway from outside (where you were shooting through the catwalk) because you had the angle, and the guy in the 3rd floor hallway would've had to do a lefthand swing on you to shoot you, giving you more time to shoot him because he has more of his body exposed before his gun.

behavior can also be a sign but theres no easy way to tell you just have to use your best judgement based off what you see
obviously stuff like shooting a scav is a dead giveaway but PMCs usually also play more slowly than a scav and will avoid scav heavy areas so keep that in mind
