Any time I mod a gun nicely, I get 1-tapped by an AP round from god knows where. I just use cheap crap now and get money. Enter a round basically naked, come out with enough to make cash. Starting late wipe against so many AP rounds makes life not worth modding stuff for me unless I get bored.

The other option to choose a scav junk would be to scan the entire stash for every scav junk box, determining which is first, then using that. It would in theory be slightly more efficient to just store a numeric value which would later be used to pick what item to use in an action.
I'm not saying its the best solution, as there is clearly an error related to this.
