I personally don't think Customs is that reliable for loot, I like to run Woods stashes (some nice loose loot spawns on the map as well) and I'm learning Lighthouse at the moment, people overlook so much stuff and if you're fast and lucky to kill the PMC looting the hotspots early in the raid you get top tier gear and loot
you can even try for some rogue loot when you have the right guns for them

i think for early player a good second map to learn is either woods if you prefer medium to long distance fights or interchange if you feel more comortable up close, both have some good loot but interchange has a lot of needed hideout items

I think it depends on the type of person you are - there's enough information out there that you can teach yourself. if you improve through emulation and instruction, then yes. but I've found that just playing by myself and figuring things out on my own has helped a lot
