My advice to everyone is pretty much the same, you have two options.

1. Check everything on the wiki for quest and hideout requirement and on tarkov-market.com for flea prices. It's otherwise impossible to know, without significant experience or asking other people every time, what you'll need anytime soon. Then you can decide what things you'll need soon enough to hold onto. This is quicker, but more annoying in my opinion.
2. Check what you'll need right now, check what hideout upgrades you could do if you simply had the right items, and what quests you could do. Keep those things that you need at the moment, sell most everything else as space is quite valuable. You'll figure out what you need as you get to things, and learn through experience. It will be slower but not as hoardy.
