example: you look up a gun, it has a receiver compatible, that receiver accepts a gas tube, and this gas tube accepts a muzzle break, and the muzzle break accepts a suppressor (just random example)

or search "linked search" if you have flea market unlocked

I thought scavs were difficult to fight until I went on a knife run and was able to stab a scav 25 times before I died.

the real thing people do as scavs is scummy with mosins
they remove your mag and front sights as a scav when they get to the after-raid screen in their stash
they put YOUR insured mosin parts on a mosin in THEIR stash; and replace your mag and parts with the parts from a mosin in his stash
so when your gun comes back in insurance; you get just the firing mechanism and a barrel LOL

Inside, there are just too many places to loot for a small number of PMC's to hit. They will usually clean out the good tech spawns, meds, Kiba, and lockers. That leaves you with going through random stores and picking up trinkets or hoping that 1 or 2 prime spots got missed. Alternatively, you could run the stashes outside the mall. You usually have like a 75% chance of those being untouched and you can make really good money.
