In terms of feeling underdeveloped u only learn by making mistakes. Knowing when to rush based off how they’re acting for instance. Playing solo u do have to play a more methodical way rather then roaming more carelessly. Personally I play a 75% solo 25% duo so I can relate to the solo grind. Honestly it takes quite a bit of time getting comfortable. Best advice I can give Is scaving maps ur not familiar with learning small tricks to flank spots, like the portapotty jump over by gas station for instance. Learning the maps inside and out helps a ton. Doing quests with low gear to get timing of spawns etc are also huge

Biggest thing I can suggest, is learning all of the spawns to the maps ur playing, assume there’s a player in each one and just get the timing down on how far they can get in a specific timeframe. Like dorms spawns. How long it takes to get to 3 story from each and knowing how long u have till someone contests etc

I guess once Mechanic is Lvl 2, buy one for ~173k from him @obtuse yacht ... Doing gunsmith missions from him should help level him up, but you also need to buy/sell things up until a certain value to reach the next level. The longer alternative otherwise - I guess grind to level 20 and buy it off of the flea market. supposedly ~140k there.

I found running found in raid AKMS with level 1 trader mods an effective weapon.. Only downside is you need to find it somewhere first. In which case I already had like 4 so I assume it's not hard, just make sure it's new not the damaged scav weapon
