• about SCAVs:

1. I NEVER get the difference between a SCAV and a PMC at least not if only take a few seconds with my finger ready to left click..., and so when I raid as a SCAV, I either keep on hurting people and hurting my Karma, OR most of the time I get shot by other players SCAV... As of now, my only scav runs that I survive are the ones where I see no one, OR I just run away when I do... Any advice? do I need 500 hours of play to integrate the characters skins?
2. I know I can "get positive karma by killing hostile SCAV players"... but... same here, how the hell do I know that? is there any in game data to let you know this?

I asked that question several times on reddit and such, but never found a real satisfying answer: do you guys know any website, or pdf guide, very well done, yet popularizing for noobs, about weapons in Tarkov and the basics of mods? I am not talking about "this is a good mod" or "S is better than N" but more A weapon is this and this, and you need A and B to make it work, some have mods like A or B... Just in order to understand what are ALL these little guns add ons I find in the game without having a clue what this is? Muzzle, barrel, whatever. The basics of weapons, but for Tarkov.

So I do it, but then the weapon becomes red, so I can't use it... and then there is this other problem of understanding what the hell is that SOK-12, because there is like 3 stuff attached to it, and yet when I try to practice the gun offline, with right-click, I only get to see through the OKP-7, I have no idea what the SOK-12 multiple addons are for, and if I ctrl+right-click it only does CLICK CLICK without changing anything...
6. Still for that Saiga, it had a "SOK-12 Leapers UTG PRO MTU002 Short Top aluminum handguard" on it where I added stuff, but today I found a "SOK-12 Leapers UTG PRO MTU002 Long Top aluminum handguard". The only difference seems to be... the weight, maybe? How do I understand the difference here, is there a "just a skin thing" kind of difference sometimes?

6. My go to rather than buying is do a few SCAV runs, get loot, then play a few PMC raids with this gear until I lose everything (pretty fast haha), and repeat. Does that make sense?
7. Linked to question 5, by doing that, gear like armor deteriorates after time: when it becomes low, should I trash it and get new ones with loot runs, or repair it? what's the most efficient strat here?
8. On the maps screen, Customs has 8-12, does it mean I will definitely be thrown in the map with 7 to 11 other real players? so it can be less than 12, but we can not know the exact number, correct? does it include Scav? and can Scav appear several times throughout the game? How does this work? and what about the time, is that an estimate? is there a website that says exactly when the SCAVs spawn, so that I know I have to hurry as a PMC?
9. Right now what I am really working on is A) my current quest and B) building a shooting range because I want to try and feel every weapon I find without having to load an offline game. About scavs, determining the difference between pmc's can be pretty simple because generally pmc's will be aggro if you are playing as a player scav while the new scav karma update most of the time player scavs are generally friendly towards you. You also said that you can gain karma for killing scavs and pmcs that have shot other player scavs which is true but its basically pointless as it gives no rep what so ever, you can tell when you lost or gain rep at the bottom right of your screen when you kill a player scav/pmc
