Before hopping into things id recommend watching pestily's beginner guides and start off with a map that looked fun to you. get a feel for the map and how the game plays and expand from there. Just my recommendation

your scav levels whenever you play him

open your inventory as a scav and go to overall and you see your lvl, kd, and stats just like on your pmc

Scavs have their own seperate stats and it works in the same way as your pmc
