customs is the entry level map and it's reinforced with a lot of early tasks requiring you to go there; shoreline requires a set of keys to loot, otherwise there's not a lot to do other than pvp in tight corridors

you should get at least 200-300k from a scav run on customs

customs is really fine for achieving high SR, and there are plenty of places to loot (crack/usec/fortress/stashes/etc), you should be making 300k a run, even without a premium loot, and with SR above 50% you'll be making a mil an hour easily
just try to avoid fights (mostly meaning - go around dorms and new gas) and you'll be fine
if you feel cheeky you can actually check hotspots like old gas/new gas/dorms to look for gear dropped by players, but that's not consistent and you're risking a fight
and you need to know where to look for for insurance scams, which may not be so obvious for a new player

if you're feeling lonely you should probably look for a connection in a less toxic environment, if you need help with tarkov, and you won't find anyone in this channel you can try to join LFG 5 man groups (for you most preferably would be Customs), just state you're new to the game and you need babysitting, some people will tell you to leave - which is fine - but most should be more than happy to help you

exactly, i started playing last wipe and found the game extremely taxing but was fortunate enough to find players who were patient enough to teach me the ropes and when this wipe hit i was able to make it level 40 and full hideout within 10 days
