i use my compass and the big rock that people like to sit on to find my way around, i just face north then see where the rock is and i know where to go from there

If you spawn on the west side you see the mine signs, east usually you can see the fence/wall, middle you can find lumber or the big rock quickly

I would say honestly the maps that have your quests, when I started I prefered Customs over all maps. But, if you dont play it right most maps are a mess haha

Reserve is free, you can use the mounted grenade launcher. Woods you can go on sniper rock, or wait for another dumbass to stand on top. Shoreline has tons of spots i'm sure you can find. Customs can be tricky but play around the river
