Either there's enough cheaters to throw me off or something I do alerts them and even though I can't even hear myself make any sound moving even with headphones (only very very slightly) they can pin point me.

@low adder That's fair. Everyone plays how they want. You can learn the maps as both PMC and scav, though. An early strategy is to get out with your scav and use the money you make to build a loadout to run your PMC. This way you are leveling up crucial skills and doing quests. You simply shouldn't learn the entirety of all maps as a scav. It doesn't give you investment return. Think of it this way: even if you lose loadouts on PMC, you gain skills, quests, levels, and knowledge with each death. These are some of the only things you actually get to take with you in Tarkov anyway...

the benefit of a pistol is you can move fast and circle strafe - I'm going to give up on using stealth and cover and just flat out rush them
