when you get flea you can buy the good ammo, just power through, don't bother with pmc combat just now if you can help it, kill your scavs, do your quests, don't spend much on your kits, insure everything, you are gonna die heaps but slowly creep towards level 10. At level 10 you can look up the good ammos, use them, still armour won't help you much but the trick is to see the enemy before they see you
