I occasionally use it for weapons which may have different ammo in mags. This is especially relevant for weapons found in raid.

For example, if I find an ADAR loaded with Warmage, I'd prefer to unload that ammo and replace it with something else, if I have it. Switching the mags is easy but you'll still have that one round of WMG in the chamber which you'll need to get rid of. You could fire it but that's loud. Unloading the chamber is quieter and pretty quick to do.

No, what it actually means is that they are always open regardless of your personal list of extracts. To give you some examples of ones that are NOT always open:

• ZB-016 on Woods (requires green smoke in order to be open)
• Old Gas Station on Customs (requires green smoke in order to be open)
• RUAF Checkpoint on Customs (requires overhead spotlight to be open)
• CCP Temporary on Shoreline (requires overhead searchlights to be open)
• Rock Passage on Shoreline (requires green smoke in order to be open)

So what that means is that you could go to Woods and have ZB-016 on your list of extracts but when you get there, you won't be able to extract unless there's green smoke.

Generally speaking, the extracts you have are on the opposite side of the map from where you spawned. There are some exceptions to that - especially extracts that are available to EVERYONE.

For example, the ZB-013 extract on Customs, the Armored train / D-2 / Bunker Hermetic extracts on Reserve etc are always available to everyone, but they have pre-requisites required to be usable.
