Pick a map.
Read up on that map. Have a guide to it on hand. Something that points out stuff like high value loot areas, stashes, extracts, spawnpoints. Keep that on a second monitor/phone/second device, if possible.
Load into that map offline. Explore around. Get a feel for it. From different spawns, pick a spot and try to navigate to it.
When you feel comfortable, kit up a PMC and go into an offline mode with PVE enabled and AI set to as online. Continue until you feel comfortable.
Up the difficulty more. Practice. When you start doing good, then you can do some actual risk runs.
Also make sure you do Scav runs when you can, even during the training. You risk nothing and you can still get loot and experience as a player.
