people get blacked limbs all the time and when you take damage to a blacked limb it spreads the damage evenly to the rest of the body, which CAN kill you, because it blacks your thorax and limbs.
You don't 'instantly' die when you get a blacked limb or when you take damage to said limb. That hasn't been true for at least 2 years now.
