my first labs run was level 15, your level 42, you are not new. tarkov is about stepping out of your comfort zone as much as possible. my labs prime this wipe was at level 27 at 3.5 mil. now im at 43, and i still love labs and run it alot
big portion of the advice in here is to make money, i understand thats a priority but some people in here are like 5 mil asking for good money methods. the best money making method is to get good at pvp, that way you can kill the people taking whats rightfully yours. so instead of running pistols everyday for the rest of your tarky career, take what you have, wipe is around the corner, and everything in your stash will be gone. my mistake last wipe is running budget the netire time and having 9 weapon cases full of meta guns when it wiped. i make 10x more money now that i am competant at pvp, so dont be afraid to buy the good ammo, and good weapon parts.

Activate tasks as soon as they open, a lot can be done passively while you play. The first 2 are from Prapor and therapist. Open a map on another screen, there isn't one in game. Watch a vid on the extracts for the map you are playing. Most early tasks are on customs. Before you can reload a gun you have to have inspected the mags. You can do this by double clicking the gun and then middle mouse the mag.
Scavs are free gear sets. Use them to learn maps. Their extracts are different from main character ones on most maps however
Oh and scavs aim lock, Try not to peek the same spot on them because after a couple shots in one place it's all head shots from there. There is a ton to learn but that should help with the basics

The iron sights are a little bit wonky on the PP-19, but it's a discount MP5 if you use it well. It has next to no recoil while being dirt cheap.
However, if you do start using mods, keep in mind that buying a MP5 can be cheaper than slapping multiple mods on a PP-19.
You'll get the PP-19 back from insurance more often than the MP5 though, the MP5 is 1x3 while the PP-19 is 2x3.

The only thing you really need on your PP is the buttpad, anything else isn't really worth it.
You'd be paying 25k to slap a foregrip on a 20k gun, the buttpad is only 4k while offering a significant reduction in recoil.
A sight is worth it though, just because of how wonky the iron sights are.

there's also plenty of mods for popular weapons sold for dirt cheap with SLIGHTLY lower stats for 1/10th of the price on the flea
of their otherwise 'meta' mod competitors
so you get a slightly worse gun for a value that is almost irrelevant for far less the price
my favorite is adar + geiselle + PWB (if you dont have it form trader, a cheaper alternative works fine as well) + a 4.1 inch (if you dont have it from mechanic, just get the basic cheap foregrip) along with whatever scope/colli you desire.
