Akm is the modernized ak47. M typically stands for modernized. The N stands for night scope but really it just means there's a dovetail there for optics. S Stands for wire stock / folding stock. U is basically paratrooper shorty barrel/folding stock. B is suppressed variant. AK 74M is the modernized AK74. 74M is the ak100. @earnest silo First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.

first tip, bud is right, practice maps you want to play offline, learn the maps
second tip, and this is mostly my opinion, customs is rough starting out
tbh for a good valuable start, practice interchange a lot offline, learn how to extract, learn how to listen with the headsets and position people, learn where the good loot spots are. A gfx card in your alpha case is easy 250k so even if you die with a cheap loadout you profit. flash drives are also good. make sure ammo you use can handle some armor or don't fight pmc. waiting them out is often a good strategy and so is retreating.

They do nothing because everyone runs high pen rounds. They protect against low pen rounds, but unless they are dumb/poor, that will likely be the case. Irl , lot of these helmets should never survive a rifle round. Your brain would also be mush after a rifle round. They are only rated for pistols and low caliber or far strays
