@analog depot First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.

So I'm trying out new assault rifles and really like the sa-58, but for some reason it seems sluggish in movement while aimed down sights on short range compared to the akms which I'm used to. But it has higher ergonomics than the akms, so shouldnt it be more responsive? Or am I missing something?

What budget pistol would you guys recommend for cheap pistol runs? So far I've been using TT and PM 9x19 pistols, without mods but with best armor pen ammo. The goal is to kill a scav or two and grab his gear. I usually drop the insured pistol after I run out of ammo (I bring 2 mags).

My comments on that is this. Last wipe was 9 months long. I reset my account 5 months in and was back to level 1 with level 1 gear and level 1 skills against all the level 50's with high skills and high tier gear. I was able to complete a ton of tasks and level back up to 40+ despite being low level. I was able to do this because I knew how to play and play within the gear I had. This is not a handholding participation trophy game. Matchmaking should never come. @trail meadow
