Personally I wear a helmet for aesthetics. They rarely stop a bullet from a PMC and scavs shoot me in the head even more rarely .

Would make sens, since they are bot with a tendency of aimbotting at certain % diffwerent limbs, if you only show your head, they have 100% chance of shooting at it

Lots of people swear by face shields, my son wears one a lot. Only face shield I ever use is with an Altyn on labs. I do a lot of night raids on interchange and face shield makes it hard for me to see there.

From what I have read about scavs... There are multiple levels of scavs (4 I think). There is a time for detection, intiail aim and aim accuracy increases over time. Can't confirm any of that though, just what I have read over the years.

@manic swan My advice to all rookies. ....
First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.
