The most newb friendly place I can think of is interchange parking lots. fair amount of weapon cases and other spawns. and outside mall has some stashes... but players will roam so gotta keep an exit or cover handy

@bold kernel what you really have to do is play the game, don't invest too much, as in don't use your nice weapons, and learn the maps first and foremost. once you know where to extract and where to find some loot, learn where players are, then learn to survive. choose one map initially, and focus only on that map. then expand.

sherpas will have listed times they're normally on, you can request them and select available dates as well. in the messages leave time periods you are usually on. they are pretty good about getting in contact with players within the requested dates
