Another thing that helps is agreeing on the cardinal directions and having common callouts for major and minor locations.

We're relatively new so thats definitely part of the difficulty we're facing, the major problem is a lack of compass which we really do not enjoy.

The problem is on over-reliance. If we're in the middle of a fire fight and I call 'Contact on big red, moving west to east' you can't really stop and whip out a compass.

Yeah that's definitely understood, but I just mean the compass to get your bearings right to start off with, as a starting point. On new maps for us, dark locations, it's difficult working with the landmarks knowing where we are, especially with the scattered and poor quality of most of the online maps.

@autumn delta well rarely will a player not watch you and shortly after shoot you. At best a scav won't see me and I'm already full on loot. Otherwise unless you don't care to die repeatedly it's usually safer to kill loose ends.
Rarely there are exceptions... Like trying to not agro an entire group at once while in the open... Then a scav starts shooting me and I just sigh and wish them luck in the future gang bang.

Guys if you need to make money go to IC PC office's on top of tables(new spawns ) you will find alot of WORKING LCD+red store etc, you can make ~7-10 per run thats 285 000 just to sell on medic and take only x2 slots,either as scav or PMC IC is great for making money atm

damage is entirely based on which ammunition you use

Hey! Just sharing something for other newbies like me that helps a bit even if it is a bit cheap
Join factory as a scav, you join later into the raid and there's already a lot of dead people with guns and what not, since it's a small map once you learn it you can enter as a scav, usually loot up an entire kit (vest, bagpack, at least one extra gun) and odds and ends that people can't fit into their backpack
And also, since you're a scav, you're safe from the NPCs

You right click and inspect, if it doesn't say in the description you can inspect the mag and it'll say there
If it doesn't have a mag you can right click - linked search in the flea market and see the ammo that pops up, that's the ammo for it
Ammo types matter but since nobody has decent armor or armor at all right now you probably have to worry about it
Just use single fire, auto if theye like 5-10 meters from you

You don't have to get "so much XP" to leave. If you don't get at least 300 XP it will be a run through which has no penalty unless you are doing a task that requires you to "survive"

Play slower. Use cover. You don't have to shoot at someone just because you see them. Wait. Observe and see if they are alone, geared, alert. If it's a good situation shoot but be prepared to get shot at plus to attract attention.

@noble fog keep working on those quests, when you can start working on quests for ragman and peacekeeper (do skier and therapist quests too when you can). While doing this, make sure you hoard things like building mats, car batteries, cigerettes, morphines, and more (make sure you found em in raid instead of buying em.)

@noble fog quick tip, customs, interchange, and shpreline are the main maps youll be on for most your early/mid game quests so learn them. Shoreline you can get lots of valuables, interchange you can get meds and building mats, customs is kinda a little bit of everything but not much at all XD
