@tidal belfry what maps are you playing? How do you play when you do play? (Slow and cautious or casually)
I usually only play customs as I'm still learning the game. I keep telling myself the wipe is coming so that I lose any gear fear I get. Dont get attached to Nything because you will die. Plus scavs WILL kill you A LOT even for AI. I suggest running scav runs for a bit to learn multiplayer and play offline to learn maps and such, as well as how scavs act against PMCs.
I'm not good at the game at all but is fun as hell when you start getting the hang of it. I get out of most of my real PMC matches alive when I play because of my style. When I play with friends I die a lot more but still have fun because they Re more aggressive.

I've never actually played Interchange so I cant offer much assistance in terms of advice. I suggest mixing it up a bit but play offline with scavs and bosses to learn more about theirbehavior. The play as a scav to learn more about PMC behavior. Most PMC teams go in thick so if you are alone with only a pistol or budget gear you need to avoid major traffic areas and stick to shadows.

The value of repair changes based on type of armor, damage, and who is repairing how much of it. As far as I'm aware there's no source for repair costs other than finding out yourself unless the wiki says how much. Most of the time repairs from 0 durability cost anywhere from 10k to 100k+ depending on item being repaired

Possibly mate, I've been using the SV for about a month now, I'm well into mastery 2 with it and I'm loving it however we usually run interchange and the majority of kills are point and click sorta deals, how do you decide how far away targets are?
We had some guys spawn by south east and we were at power station, I couldn't hit anywhere near
It was slightly foggy which didn't help because I had next to no fedback as to where the bullets were hitting either
Is it a case of just learning distances from A to B or is there a way to infer it in raid?

Yes.
A lot of it is simply learn how far away stuff is either by using "longest shot distance" as a gauged, but you 'can" determine distance with an optic, its not super quick in most cases though

A good rule of thumb in EFT is zero 150 and hold center mass for most unknown distance shots with 51 nato or 54r.
Or you could use the PSO range finder on a secondary weapon if you were so inclined.
The vudu is pretty easy to learn for range finding.
if target is 10 dots tall they are 136 m away, if 5 272 m away

We run interchange like 90% of the time so like I say most kills are well within 150m but we had some people spawn at the fuel truck on the road towards south extract and I was on power roof and I couldn't hit them for shit

The hensoldt is a lot harder to range with (since the mil dots are not scaled)
on high power, your 10 Dot tall ( fills the illuminated portion of your reticle) your target will be 325. On low power he'll be 72m away.
The burris is very hard to range with imo.

@iron wraith Armor durability is really, extremely important. The thing is you always have to compare the armor to itself at 100% durability
The protection of the armor is always calculated from 100%, so a 20/60 and a 20/20 repaired armor are both functionally identical
And usually if your armor durability goes down by more than ~15% you're already down a full armor class

Ceramic protects a little better (so most ceramic armor is class 4 or higher) but repairs really awfully
So for example from the armors you linked, the class 4 is ceramic and the class 3 is another material
The left one at ~30 and the right one at ~56 are probably somewhere in the same ballpark when it comes to protection. Due to damage taken the class 4 is closer to a class 3 or even a bit less now

Whoever told you that was either lying or doesn't know what their talking about. Unless dehydrated, you can only die from taking direct damage of some sort.
So the two most likely theories is you just got bopped by someone using a suppressor at very long range or you lost track of your fluids and dehydrated.

Teams can help...BUT at the same time teams can be tough. If you are with teams there is this hesitation of "should I shoot. Is that X person" then you call out "Is this you" and if it isn't them you are already probably dead.

Hello! I got the game in like 4 or 5 days. I've been messing around cause I know there's a wipe coming so I'm just trying to know the maps playing in offline and such. I'm really liking it. The problem is that I always get scarred to go online. I died like... Alot. I'm trying to do some quests but I can't cause I end up dying all the time for players and scavs. Any tips to get over that fear and to deal with AI in general?

Everyone is going to say Experience and map knowledge. Use internet maps on 2nd screen. You can run offline to learn maps. Learn scav spawns and PMC spawns. Scav patrol patterns.

Well factory is a tough choice for new people. It's a hectic map with a ton of angles to cover. You don't really have time to loot kills and at this point many of the PMC are geared. I totally disagree with those who tell new people to play Factory to get used to the game

Customs is my opinion for new people. It's small enough that you are going to have contact with people but big enough to move around. Plus the first task from Prapor is on this map.

i suggest, in offline you really need to get your mouse sensitivity dialed in so you wont go left and right missing every shot that you take, make sure its dialed in so you feel comfortable with aiming, put it on easy, make sure you win a couple of 2 or 3 hostile moments, get that difficulty up higher, learn to stay calm and listen for their movements, know where they are, know where they are going, take a deep breath, and start shooting 😛 is how i learned to get less scared and more confident in fights
take some headphones or how they call it in the game so hear the footsteps better

As far as vendors you are doing what I tell all new people to do. Do NOT overuse flea market. Run what you can buy from traders. Work on leveling traders. You get better prices from traders if you level them. Buy and sell with traders.
There are some things u can buy on flea like maybe the shotty for the first task or better ammo but overall buy/sell to traders.

Just hang in there. We all sucked when we first started. I had watched a ton of streams/videos before I bought EFT but was still overwhelmed when I started.
Use internet maps. Patience. Think you are good at FPS? Reset expectations. Be prepared to die a lot.

You can find all the attachments for them by right clicking and clicking linked search. Then find the attachement you like and double click the picture and look at ergo + and or recoil - %'s
Also don't forget to get the low profile gas block or else your front iron sight is going to be in the way of most optics

I do offline a lot to practice, offline is very useful
Honestly, for being outshot, you just need to practice and get used to the various weapons
Try to range shots in offline, so you have a better idea of how high or low to aim at various distances
Eventually, you should be able to predict range decently after a while, and you'll be able to land shots much more consistently
For being out of position, that's much harder, because a lot of the people you're going up against likely have sound enhancers, so they can hear you pretty much wherever you go
Thermals and nightvision are another problem entirely
Try to stick to foliage as much as possible, and take your time. Sprint only when you're sure it's safe, and stay off roads
Learn the maps you like, and find the spots that have good view points over your surroundings. From there, it's mostly practice
I'm still working on positioning myself, but so far that's granted me the most success and improvement

If you see someone, don't just snap fire them
Take some time and analyze the situation. Think if taking that shot is going to put you in a bad situation
