I have this problem where, I often try to hide in hidden spots in a map like Customs, primarily because I'm not confident in risking myself taking fights with players and dying. The issue is, this "strategy" also has issues where I find myself running low on time (This has happened to me twice when I implemented this "strategy"), as well as low on thirst and energy. I know I could just bring food and drinks to my raids, but that doesn't directly solve the issue itself.

The question I have is, how do I break this lack of confidence when I spawn in as a PMC?

Two try not to have gear fear , if you want to live use the god gear and ammo -
Go into customs for an example right when you spawn in just make your way to the extract - build up knowledge and that will be -> confidence , when surviving a raid .

either you're in their zone

or you're not

waiting for the sniper to lose interest isn't going to work

you'll have to run back into the map and hope you don't lose the coin toss

How do I gain map knowledge? Does it involve knowing where the PMC spawns are and then trying to predict where they're going, depending on tasks (Like the golden pocket watch for example) or the nearest buildings to them, like dorms?

you're right for the most part, but knowing loot hot spots also influences player directions

and knowing map routes and scav spawns will help you figure out what kinda way players may path their way

it certainly helps if you know to be looking in one or two directions and then just relying on hearing, instead of trying to look everywhere

That is part of the battle - my suggestion is if your a new player . Pick a couple maps to play and play them a lot . After some time you will start to recognize the spawns and this in return is map knowledge .

Yes getting hit takes your stamina, yea i know its punishing. What i do is i try to let go of sprint so as to never get below 50% stamina when running in the open, to be able to tank some shots and still have stam to get to cover

I have a problem with customs ive been running it for 2 days and need to complete some quests in the factories side of the map.
Each and every time i get camped by some guy or even a team which is holed up in a building shooting me when i run from one building to another for cover. Its happened like 10 raids in a row. Each time is a person with alot of hours too.
Is this how ppl play the game nowadays? This game seems to reward you for staying entrenched in a building waiting for someone to pass and shoot him. I run around alot i don’t have time to stay and w8 for sound cues to rat someone out. So how do you combat this?

thorax will not work unless you have high end armor. Try face or limbs

why does this bullet have less pen and the ballistic chart says it's better round name: 7.62x39mm PS gzh (35 penetration) versus round name: 7.62x51mm BCP FMJ (37 penetration). On the ballistic chart ps gzh has (5/6) ability to pen armor and bcp fmj has (4/6) even if the round has higher armor damage that his competitor. Weird
