something like the kedr has even worse ammo, but it has better recoil, ergo and fire rate

imo scav runs are for money, pmc runs are for quests and fighting. Best way to learn is doing it both ways. It's also worth learning loot area spawns and scavruns are definitely the easier tool for it. Also gives you a chance to learn NPC scav spawn areas

Most of the time you need to go to the opposite side of the map to extract compared to where you spawned in. Check your extracts right at the start, find it on the map, then locate your locations and track your progress with landmarks like buildings, towers, and power lines

The compass will help learn the maps if you have it pulled up on a second monitor. You HAVE to memorize the map and have it up until you don’t need it

There is no “unstuck” command like in some games. Change stance, run, jump, etc. remember that spot and don’t do it again

Yes, ground zero has dedicated spawns too, check the wiki, it will have all sorts of tips, and maps with all the loot spots marked. Ground zero is tough, it’s a small map and lots of rats play on it. I would suggest learning interchange. It’s big, lots of loot, lots of space to escape, lots of extracts

That sounds great. I actually dont really like ground zero.. you are either in buildings with bad loot (as far as I experienced) and tight areas, and if you want to go anywhere you have to walk in the middle of the street

Also, solo play is totally different than duos. Start solo, get confident, THEN find a good duo buddy to stick with, totally changes the game if two solo players team up well. It depends on your playstyle foe that raid, but most of the time I suggest people use cheap gear until they get good enough to make good gear count. At the minimum always take a Paca, balaclava, and GSsH headset. Then I suggest a bank robber rig, t-bag, grab an SKS, or cheap AK

have you done the starting ones on ground zero? if you want to progress gear, traders, and XP, do the "side quests". you access those from the trader menu, at the top there be a "task" section. there is a detailed guide, map, and videos for every single one of these missions. the tarkov community has it down to a science. ok, for interchange the 2 main extracts are emercom checkpoint and trailway exfil, for the first, find OLI on the outside of the mall, and you will see a roundabout, follow that around away FROM THE MALL, you will see a couple of tents on the left side of the road, sit by those tents, for the second extract, go to the highway, and head north passt scav chekpoiint to where the road splits left and right, go left and you will eventually see a railway, follow that north to the trains at the border and sit by the trains at the top 😛

likewise if you spawn at nakatani, emercom is your extract

the only map that ignores this is factory as its such a small map

Interchange, woods, and lighthouse are super stacked with loot. you can get to lighthouse as a scav by going to woods and using the transit to lighthouse near the Scav house, check the wiki
