the consistent way to do it without much risk is researching Lavatory LVL 2, you can manufacture it there

but you will need to collect the parts for lavatory 1, water collector 1 and then the lavatory 2 parts

You can buy the first edition and upgrade to a better edition later (eg during a sale). You pay the difference in price to upgrade (local tax not included in price tags). You get the extra equipment trough the in game mail and at the start of a new wipe.
A raid is a match in the game, you equip your character, select a map and play on that map. Get loot, kill peeps do tasks and try to get out alive before the timer runs out. You keep what you take out of the raid, you lose what you take in if you die (except secure container, knife and armband).

Woods is the largest map in game right now, if you know where you are going it only takes 7m to get from one corner of the map to the opposite one. Best to use third party maps since you're going to have to learn them the hard way. Landmarks and such.
Player amount is different on each map and there are a lot of bots to shoot. The later in the raid the more bots/player scavs spawn. The idea is basicaly that the longer you stay the more you get outnumbered by the bots.

I'll tell you this, I strongly suggest that you watch any YouTube guide teaching beginners on how to start playing Tarkov, as well as going into an offline raid and learning the map layout. (If you buy it ofc)

I've found some very rarely on AI scavs like 15 mins in the raid. If you kill a scav who has a backpack they're worth checking. But i understand the struggle bro I can't find stuff as common as screws

Conc sec often has nice atachments, i like to hit it. Tg armory is maybe not the best but also fun, often spawns m4s. Negotiation spawns nice loot including valuables, good to hit it.

TG armory is goated, conc security has a safe, 2 pcs and a lot of attachments. I like to hit both finance keys for safe, pcs and valuables

Well it's not necessarily 1 building, it's about reading the raid that's going on, any shots?? Follow, any dead scavs? Follow, hotspots for late pmcs are k buildings d2, and anywhere leading to extracts

I do kind of search around bodies for people, idk if I keep loading into raids late or what but it feels like I never hear shots, and on the occasions I do they're next to extract like across the map

I might just be bad at understanding what's happening at any given time

That is what's gonna be happening as you learn the game, reserves one of my main maps, so I already know where most fights likely took place before loading in and I path to them immediately. There are just so many small details in the game it takes time to learn them. If you're not finding people try focusing on covering more ground as a scav rather than hitting a building and looting everything there, tag a duffel bag or 2 in each building and move on.

Simultaneously going into PMC raids and just dropping dead before I even know what's happening sucks, so I'm just kinda wandering around lost the majority of the time

Then focus on map knowledge, when you spawn, identify landmarks near you, place yourself on the map, make a plan, continue to acknowledge where u are and where you're moving compared to the map. Knowing where people are gonna be based on spawns will help a ton with that

The first 2-5 mins of the raid are the most dangerous imo

Esp for newer players that don't know the spawns, cause if I spawn near you, I'm coming to check if someone spawned there to kill em before they do me

Uh no not really

It's not a good map and it's hard to survive, but all your early game quests gonna be there so like you need to do it to progress, but with the no level cap it's hard

You'll wanna tick off your tasks to get started but it'll be tough, customs is probably the most new player "friendly" in terms of being able to identify where you are as there is a highway thru the whole map

If you’re using low penetration ammunition you should aim for their face/neck or their legs

Aiming for their armour is like kicking the ball the wrong way down the field and then complaining you can’t score a goal

Your tasks tab should show you the progress made so you can check if it reset after you died.
For future reference it's best to use the wiki for such questions and to give us the name of the quest so we can be more specific.

Start as scav, only difference as pmc is you spawn in slightly sooner, in different spots and if you die you have to heal

At lvl 1 traders you can’t mod a gun into anything special, it’s mostly mods and modded guns you find until you get mechanic and skier leveled up

Positioning and ammo are always more important than the gun its self tho

Unless they reverted it, the traders aren’t selling any good 5.45 ammo you’ll have to find most of it, with ragman cost coming down again people will have t 3 and 4 on mostly so you’ll want like 35-40 pen ammo

Or grab sp and leg meta people/ shoot them in the face

Don’t be afraid to pickup a gun and start using it, as long as it won’t jam and you have good ammo for it any gun is useable

i feel like the game has spawn points for when youre new to a map and you get it more than anything lol. i get bottom left on streets all the time (by heli crash), and i used to get garages spawn on customs all the time

and on woods i always get right by outskirts

I very rarely spawn near outskirts, and the heli spawn is one of the worst on streets because if you are unlucky then you well be trapped by like 2 or 3 other spawns

after patch scav cooldowns will be lower, if ur new to game and got time i hihly recommend scaving a bit to learn map layouts and such. it doent help much with pvp routes but a bit of map knowledge can go a long way
