Honestly, I’m not really engaging in fights much I usually try to focus on tasks and end up getting killed before I can even do anything. Sometimes I try to wait out the early fights and move later in the raid, but I still end up getting picked off. I do kill scavs when I see them, but I’m not really hunting PvP more just trying to survive and complete quests

You take predictable paths, you are around hotzones at predictable timings.

Killing scavs when they are not a danger is a mistake

They act as an alarm system to warn you from other PMCs

Scav raid on Interchange. The back of the store grocery store in the middle. When you see the fire towards the back (assuming you are facing the back of the store towards the warehouse side) hang a left and wrap around through the shelves till you find a side area with two sets of double doors leading to it. I have found more there in my scav raids then anywhere else.

It's mostly caused by render distance and tons of trees, grass, and textures loading in. It'd a certain direction because that direction is taxing your GPU

I'm currently practicing Customs for the Easy Money quest. Did 9 offline/PMC runs so far lost 8, finally survived the last one after ditching my helmet for a headset. Am I right in thinking headphones > helmet early on?
One thing I struggle with: I often get shot and have no idea where it came from. Any tips on improving positional awareness or things I might not be thinking of yet would be super helpful. I try to play stealthy and don't Rambo in, but even when I think I am clear I get transported back to the main-menu. Also, some words of encouragement are welcome, I know this game is hard. But even getting deleted on practice mode feels rough

to comment on awareness its just an experience thing. its hard to identify where suppressed shots are coming from besides taking an educated guess from the bullet impacts. you can usually try to run around or to cover and decide vaguely where that person is at

but that knowledge comes over time slowly. you can also learn spawns and after a decent bit of playing you learn how people path and the flow of player movement so u can again take educated guesses at player locations

As a new player myself (around 70-80hrs) i highly advise starting with PVE and doing offline so you can learn the maps and where to extract. In offline you can even set the number of scavs and their difficulty level. The more you learn the maps you can start making the scavs more realistic. The first maps you need to learn are ground zero, Woods and customs because most of the first tasks given to you will be on those maps. Make sure to do your scav runs once you are familiar with those maps because if you make it out all that gear and what you looted are yours.

I do it for Therapist to get a free injector's case. The other two traders will have quests unlock to earn back the amount of rep that you lost. Skier will ask for 1m roubles, prapor will ask for a bunch of M67 grenades (non found in raid) and therapist will ask for a few keys if you decide to go with someone else. I think therapist's reward is still the best even though flea market is open at this point. Just check how much injectors case goes for and weigh that against the other rewards. I never do Skier's "pay back for reputation" quest because I always have enough rep just by doing his quests anyways.

I know thats not an easy answer but there are certain quests giving moonshine as reward. THe first one needs you to be lvl 35 the second one is the BTR Questline.
2 can be obtained as a quest reward from Circulate
1 can be obtained as a quest reward from Building Foundations

you would have to locate each other, you can create a group before going into a raid up to 5 i believe, but once you get into a game you spawn at different locations

Maps are big. Usually there is like 8-12 people per map, per round. You can avoid people, but its pretty certain to encounter them.

it is very often that you run into pmcs whether on pvp or e. After some time you learn where the hotspots are and how players normally route based on where they spawn. Honestly much more rare to not run into people

one big thing to remember, is when youre playing as a "scav" other scav npcs are friendly so you dont wanna shoot anyone you see. if you kill a scav as a scav, you will lose rep with a vendor named fence.

theres 2 different "gamemodes" if you wanna call them that. "SCAV" and "PMC". as a scav you spawn in with a randomized kit and just exploring the map with the benefit of not being targeted by other scavs and looting without being bothered, but do keep in mind that doesnt stop PMCs from killing you. as for the PMC, its your "main character" which is what you use to complete your tasks you receive from vendors.

what helped me for my beginner experience, play as a scav for bit, use third party websites for the maps like i mentioned above, and just run around looting, exploring, and learning the map. itll benefit you in the long run as a pmc doing your tasks and what not.

pmcs, you can tell just by the outfit theyre wearing or what they have on. as for a scav, they usually act as your typical npc "robot", but you can run into rogue scavs who will just kill anyone, but normally most player scavs are friendly.
