Yeah, that'll come with experience. Playing with friends (especially ones more experienced) or even looking for group on this wiki will net you knowledge and experience in the game, which will in turn translate into more survival

You can also do Scav raids and offline raids to learn maps and scav behaviour. You can really nail the scav killing portion in offline without fear of losing ammo or gear!

And either way just search up a guide

it's difficult to fight them w/o nades but not impossible, taps but pmcs will get in your way. you'd have to pvp and fight kaban at the same time which of course can promote good gameplay but its up to you at the end of the day

thats how i did it. So depending on where you spawn, orient youself. This map is on tarkov.dev. Just google tarkov woods map 3d

so first find out where you are, find out where this spot is where all the arrows lead, and then go there, and then go to the nearest exit.

You can also sit and wait a few mins to let all the killing happen and then go for the journey and get the letter.

Its gonna take a few tries, i am also still learning woods, but its not THAT difficult when you can orient yourself.

I looked it up on yt. You have to shoot the flare at a specific angle, wait a certain time then can go. And even then, it's hit or miss if you get sniped

Scavs usually have hp or sp rounds, which do a lot of flesh damage

Plenty of gaps in the armour nowadays with the new plate system, your plate may be level 6 but it doesn't cover 100% of your body like it used to. Just like how helmets don't help when you get shot in the face instead of the helmet.
Scavs typicaly have low pen high flesh damage rounds so they'll often one tap limbs and such.

Start in Ground Zero, Woods, or Customs (my suggestions, start anywhere but Factory). You want to get one map down well. Don’t spread yourself thin early on. Focus on getting good enough at one map you can always go back there and make money if you need to, then go learn others.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.
