Playing boiler side up to old gas is full of routes you can push to get tight distances. You just gotta not go in the open. And on other parts of the map just looting dorms will get you some close pvp naturally or playing fortress too. You dont need to camp just pick and choose where you play

Since youre good ather shooters so probably aim well what you need to work on now is the harder half of tarkov pvp: map knowledge, positioning, reading your enemy.
Maps: Knowing where enemies spawn on each map and when and where you should expect them is super important, so is knowing how you can flank them or what are your routes of escape if you ecer get in a position thats disadvantageous. Look up spawn guides for each map or just play enough to learn.
Positioning: you ideally always want to lead the fight in such a way that gives you an advantage. You want to take fights from close to cover, you want to fight in positions where its hard to flank you or where you have the minimal amount of potentiall angles your enemy can peek you from. If you get cought in a bad position off guard, dont be afraid to retreat and reposition, dont go in places where youre likely to get caugh while crossing open terrain, always keep in mind the closest piece of cover and if youre stuck in a bad position use your grenades, you dont need to throw them precisely at the enemy but just the sound of them being thrown is enough to make people dive for cover giving you whole seconds to reposition to where you do have an advantage.

This is my usual route for streets depending on where I spawn I'll take either one on the way to extract

Learn the klimov extract in an offline raid and always take a flare with you so you can get out if you need to
(if you have a quest item etc.)

Your best bet is also using the wiki / tarkov.dev and learning the spawns so you can kill the 1 - 2 pmc spawns near you / avoid them when starting the raid

If you've got keys you can get bitcoins in any of the locked rooms on the route without needing to get into a guaranteed pvp cqb

If you get late in raid and Kaban has been killed there's usually a few dead pmcs with kits you can take

If Kaban is up and you don't have 6 scav karma I'd give it a miss unless you want to deal with the karma penalty for trying to kill him

You can take other routes but this should get you a quick mil easy before extract

you cant hear further cause the game uses perception for distance not really audio levels, but it may be cleaner

Yeah, changing your audio settings will not allow you to 'hear further', it may help you with distinguishing things based on your setup and what earwear you have on in-game, but Gandolf is correct

tbh a lot of it is just for your audio profile and the ingame headset you use (try sordins, you sound like a sordin guy)

just dont touch the ingame settings around binaural and oculus because occlusion zones (especially vertical) are fucking borked

The only way to increase your hearing range is to use different headphones in game and to increase your perception skill

Alr, ive been doing practse raids to test different sound settings and the only thing it really changes is the clarity of noise

this is like my default stereo that comes wth the headphones should i change something or keep it stock

You’re testing audio that your character is making, do you have a friend walking or running at like 50 metres or testing inside buildings to see how bad the audio is occluded

I can’t give you advice on this program as I don’t use it.

been checking on scavs seem to be able to hear the exact same but with spatal sound i can hear a lot more background noise it isnt as muffled

I have a Behringer UMC204HD with some Sennehsier IE 400 Pros

And different headphones will have different sound profiles too

So if you’re using different headphones in game, your settings will mess with that too

One pair could sound perfect to you then another you could have your drums blasted with bass

when i checked if spatial is bad i only saw people complaining about the windows spatial audio

Yeah because spacial audio adds reverb to emulate the sound source as being in the room with you, not from your headphones

You cannot generalise Tarkov audio like you’re trying to

The profiles are entirely different based on your characters skills and the headphones you are wearing in game

I’ve tried in the past and trust me, it’s just better to not use anything and to find a pair of headphones in game that fit the profile you like

Because I can guarantee you, if you’re tweaking sound profiles you’ll need to have a different one for each type of headphones
