That feeling is the best feeling you’ll get in this game. Play it slow and focus on getting tasks done and getting out alive. One thing you have to understand is that death comes swift in tarkov and it comes often. The only way to stop it is to choose your encounters and always look for advantages to win fights

I find myself starting to get the creeps whenever I hear anyone around me, and I'm sure you already know how sound works and how you make sound even when you turn around.

And how the way you hear yourself is different from how others hear you.

So in a sense, I think it's a matter of reading "enemy sound". If they're running, they either haven't heard you or you have.

And at some point you have to embrace the fact that you've been detected.

One thing I actually like about Tarkov is that you can't be 100% silent.

I feel like playing arena has 100% helped me with combat but its the atmosphere change in the two that makes me lose all confidence. In arena I run straight at the enemy since i have a slight clue as to where they'll be and I lose nothing from dying + I respawn (i dont have to wait 30 years to load back into another match), while in normal tarkov I completely freeze up when i hear someone nearby

Yeah, I'm with you. Tarkov is rather low frequency like that. Kind of like DayZ, Arma, and whatnot.

You don't get to shoot your gun as often as, say, in Apex.

So being able to practice shooting often is a good thing. And arena does just that.

• Walking only around the edges of map/not in the open wherever possible
• No running, only slow-walking at half speed

Well, first of all, going at night might actually bring you to the exact kind of pepole you're trying to avoid. I remember that quest from 2021, and it's doable. You just have to account for, eh, PMC movements & when scavs spawn (I'd suggest googling what time player scavs begin spawning).

I scav mostly Shoreline, so I know that the spawn is around ~20-25m

I try to save the Resort for last, when there's 10m on the timer
I go in the hole on the west side and directly up the stairs

My thought process was to wait like 10-15m at the start of the raid, then head to Weather Station
After that, try to get near Resort and hide again until 10m left, then go up on roof + leave through Lighthouse/Vehicle extract

Hello everyone I have a question about the Jaeger quest The Survivalist Path - Eagle-Owl
The quest has a restriction, requiring you to kill scavs at nighttime without using NVGs or thermals

Does this mean "Don't have NVGs or thermals equipped at all" or "When you kill those scavs, don't have the NVGs on and don't look through the thermal scopes" ? Cause the latter would mean you could acquire targets using NVGs and thermals, but disable them to kill scavs, whilst the former is a tad more restrictive.

I think the kirasia is very over hyped.
The class 4 uley is a beast, one of a kind.
There's a few more armors that were "class 5" before, which now have class 3 aramid that I would suggest using.

Kirisa has coverage on the chest, back, neck, right side, left side and front/back plates. The Uley covers chest, back, neck and groin with no front/back plates.

And uley is class 3 built in armour that cant get swapped

the Uley has class 4 coverage over the stomach, thorax, upper back, lower back and groin.
So although the kirasia has technically better armor being class 4 with class 2 behind (class 3 in the thor case), the uley has that class 4 across a much larger area. That being said the way aramid works is slightly different to armor plates, but I wouldn't say it's a very significant change, at least considering how the armor costs you 60k roubles.

Look. I know that you're all happy with your thor here, being class 4 + 3, but if things go through the class 4, they're likely going to go through the class 3 as well.
The thor has very much smaller hitbox than the Uley, so having class 4 across a large area is going to be a massive addition. I'd run the Uley any day of the week over the Thor. It's just.... a great armor.

There isn't much point in them, the effective hitbox is really small and it only covers the stomach.

@wicked shell Another viable point is the difference between the SAPI "FR.PLATE" armor area (blue in pic) and the russian style "F.PLATE" armor area (orange), and how they compare when looking at where the thorax hitbox sits.
The SAPI plates have slightly more thorax coverage, while the russian plates have more stomach coverage.
These two are literally the only 2 front plate hitboxes in the game rn. Every armor with a front plate has either one of these.

You need to use fleece fabric to mop up the floor, if you don't you will get penalties to your fuel consumption, energy and health regeneration and less raid XP and physical skills XP.
After mopping the floor you need to wait 12 hours to mop again

I may be misremembering the exact prices or scheme, but I think you could use the workbench to turn wires into cords or cords into wires. I think it's the latter.

And that meant you could buy cords on the flea, make 8 wires or something, and put them back there for sale.

In-game you might wanna hit the B button to see if it'll switch to automatic

If you have Jaeger available he sells a VPO which is bolt-action.

If you go in traders that sell guns you can filter weapon parts and mods on the right hand portion of the trader screen.

If you're looking for iron sights for bolt action, Jaeger may have it, not sure.
