Arena is effectively just an aim trainer tbh, it's very good for getting the feel of guns before rushing them into raid but beyond that it's a different style of pacing.

It's very good for practising gunplay, but for anything else Arena underdelivers imho.

I like 5.56x45, but the M855 is kinda pricey when I could just get it with peacekeeper lvl3 at level 23 (I'm currently 16). What type of ammo would be better money/efficiency wise?
I need to find a gun I'm comfortable with so I can run it as my default loadout, but I think finding the right ammo I can sustain easily would be a better first step

You gotta get a map of the location you will be on, double tap "o" to see which extracts you have available and go to them. The tarkov wiki has good maps and 3rd party sites like mapgenie.io/tarkov also have great resources

Its up to your own navigation skills to figure out where on the map you spwned in but im sure you will manage eventually

I’ve used a lot of my starting stash. No bag, no rig, no guns. I have bought a few ak 74s and some cheap ammo to get me armed, and a couple raids I’ve bought small rigs.

Seems like that’s not the worst thing to do since I can scav and find enough items to cover costs…I suppose over time as skill level increases, your stash should naturally grow and guns won’t be an issue?
