@summer pendant definitely try to learn something new every death. Embrace it. For a wile. Focus on learning the exfill and the map. Customs is a good one to start but due to the event rn. AVOID IT. Go woods or interchang and stick to the outside only for a bit. Also. Videos like the one above is a great place be when ur on the john or in bed U might not get many exfils at first but thats okay. With some patience ull get some kills and get the hang of it. Im also pretty new. 100 hours and i dont know shit….. i know people who are 2k plus hours and still are learning. Definitely brace the learning curve and this game can be a fucking blast ! # cant wait for arena no hate. But when we do get hands on. Not a bad place to learn the combat side and build confidence for EFT. Goodluck bro 😎

If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a flashlight and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Use practice mode
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep track of which routes actually work and which are reliably dangerous.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP. Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, recording them and watching them back really helps improve
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

Your quest locations aren't contested, so if you're new just try to learn the maps and learn the early quests

So you know what you're doing

I recommend getting to know Woods, customs and shoreline in that order

Wipe is soon and the gear you have isn't very good compared to everyone else. That said its probably not the only reason you're dying to other players, new ppl often think that if they just had better gear they'd do just as well but when given said gear they just die immediately anyways. Point of all this is, while you're down a lot of gear you're also not over the learning curve yet and the latter is something you can try to overcome now, so you won't struggle as much with that aspect next wipe

A lot of people try to keep bags filled in their stash. I've seen it fail so many times.
Because even though you get more space it's a big block instead of small items that are easier to tetris into place. You store your stuff inside containers, meaning you can't easily see everything you have, and that results in crowding.
There's some psychological effect where people don't like pulling from containers that are full, it's weird.
And if your stash gets full, if you have a bunch of full bags in there, it takes FOREVER to sort it out.

Always remember that ammo is way more important than guns, so choose guns based on what ammo you can buy.
Early on your best options are:
UMP-45s (buy Knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper) with FMJ is the best option, but the most costly,

Mosin from Prapor with FMJ is great if you like bolt actions,

KEDR-B with PSV or PPSH with LRNPC are both good for close-range high-damage guns you can spray legs or face with.

If you can find good 545 (PP, BP, BT, BS) or 762x39 (PS, PP, BP) then those are also options.

PMC is your main character with your own loot and you have a chance to lose it. The scav is random loot for free, that if you extract you can keep. The whole "I will wait until I'm better" doesn't really make sense. When you are better that gear will be just any other day at the job. "good" is relative, you'll benefit more from just using it right away.

As for the ammo aspect, there's really two ways of looking at it when balancing ammo vs weapon, if you're more of a spray and pray type of person, it's a lot more sensible to invest in the gun rather than ammo, as you're shooting so many bullets that ammo would be very expensive. If you're shooting well aimed shots you'll be better off with ammo rather than gun mods, as it's important for the few shots you shoot to actually deal damage.

I'm pretty sure the avarage for people in tarkov is about 40% survival rate, so you're not going to be doing much living to say the least. That starter gear is gone in the blink of an eye, but regardless it's not worth much at all, for reference one loadout that I use 2 weeks into the wipe, costs the same as your entire stash when you first log on.
