Tape measures are generic loot, you can find them in tool crates, sports bags, cabinet drawers etc. Try scaving into the medical camp to see if you can find some.
As for learning woods same as any other map, learn the landmarks (sniper mountain, wood mill, USEC camp, Medcamp, scav house, river etc)

Pg up and Pg dwn buttons on your keyboard while aiming down sights. Zeroing the sight will basically put the centre of the crosshairs to be accurate to a certain distance. Most sights are zeroed to 50 metres and go up in increments of 50 when zeroing too. This means that, if you were to aim at a target 50 metres away, your bullet would go exactly where the crosshairs are. Further away than 50m would mean you would have to account for bullet drop (aim higher), closer than 50m would mean you have to account for height over bore (aim lower)

All joking aside, rogues are like raiders in terms of equipment. You can headshot them, or use better ammo. They will hold corners though so be careful trying to peek a corner after they know where you are.

If you are solo then play like it. Reposition and try to outsmart them. Be accurate.

nobody can really tell you that. it's your money. when i started i was running low tier stuff all the time. harder to survive, but "cheaper" to run until you've lost more than you would have spent on a good kit. the good kit still requires you to be able to hit your shots though so if you're struggling there then offline to practice your aiming.

the ops-core fast rac is pretty nice too

Sordins are poopy. Way too bassy if you have decent headphones. All you hear is thud thud thud
