And you can shoot out the flood lights in the bunker to make it pitch black even during day, but it'll give you an advantage over ai and players who aren't ready

The before 15, focus on money run and quests. Dont even think about pmc. Only focus is rat, quests, run scav as much as you can to stack those rubs up. Quests, scav run, money. The only 3 things you need to know in your head.

I've heard a lot of conflict between people complain about cheaters or people just need to "get gud". I've had EFT on my radar for a while but always seem to draw back because of the wipes and beta stage. I'm looking for something like Squad without the need to communicate as a team, DayZ without the need to constantly survive the least littlest cough. I'm wanting the survival aspect and tenseness of an FPS without the anxiety of having to start all over again and "grind" etc. I'm currently looking up YT stuff but still undecided.

Any advice or clarification on whether the games worth picking up would be appreciated, thanks.

well i play a lot so i like it, there is ofc cheaters like any game, ive met only less than like 10 cheaters who I found blatant or suspicious, there is ofc some closet cheaters who will only use esp and stuff so u wont know they are even cheating but i wouldnt say the cheating problem will fuck ur experience over. Communication is definitely not on squad level and it really just depends on ur group size, like if ure playing with a duo or trio its pretty easy to avoid friendly fire and u dont need that insane comms. Survival aspect isnt so big in tarkov, u will need to eat and drink sometimes especially in the start when you have low metabolism skill but the survival is more about not getting blasted in ur face by opponents. Tarkov is a massive grind tho even tho you only lose ur gear set when u die and have an entire stash with loot, but id buy the game again rn if I didnt have it

The cheating aspect doesn't seem that bad from how you explained it to what I've read online. Which is good. I would be a solo player if that changes things up? So I guess I'm also wondering if EFT loot is lucrative enough to keep doing raids (if that's what it's called) over and over? Is it simply looting to get better gear and to be king of the hill or is there another aspect of the game that I'm not seeing?

Groups naturally have an advantage and being solo is hard to put it mild, you will be constantly shit on and after 200-300hrs u will probably still be getting shit on. There are tasks in the game which is the main way you progress, you do tasks to get xp to level up your character level. These tasks are given by 8 different traders and they give reputation with those traders so you can level up the traders, all the traders have 4 levels and you get access to new and better stuff to buy from them as you level them up. Its to my understanding the main story quests wont be in the game until the release of the game. So you basically go into raid to mainly do tasks and loot. Pvp ofc too some tasks will require you to kill others go do something somewhere or find an item

There are certain main goals people set normally like getting max traders which is getting lvl 42 and doing enough tasks to get reputation with all traders so they are all lvl 4

Then there is getting the Kappa secure container which is doing a lot tedious tasks

And lightkeeper which is the 9th trader who is only accessable from in raid but he isnt fully implemented yet, hes kinda shit

Many people after getting max traders just go pvp rest of wipe

Is getting max trader rep easy to get to or do you have to put a lot of time into it? (Putting time into it is what I'd prefer) And does it all reset once wiped, or is it just your character/gear that's wiped?

a good little intro to tarkov for me was watching pestilys raid series

Okay. I'd have to either "get gud" (practice) or get lucky to progress within say, my first five hours of game time. The rep system seems fine to me then. I just didn't want to jump in game and then see other players managing to get full rep within hours when it's suppost to take a lengthy time.

You can definitely get some progress the first five hours but mostly ull use ur first time just getting used to the game and stuff, there is a lot to learn and its quite different from other FPS games

my first wipe was last one, and i got all the content done pretty much, but it took a shitload of time

The tasks can vary, some are pretty surface level such as go to certain area and mark something or pick up a document folder or kill some enemy type, when you get further in the tasks can put additional restrictions such as where you can kill the opponent, what weapon type you have to use, any gear you have to specifically wear, how close or far away you have to be and for the really hard ones if you can do the task without dying

many people dont get it when they get told its steep

That's what I'm looking for. A game to jump in on from time to time to get something done within an hour or two for a long period of time. Father duties are first at the moment lol.

Tarkov also has a fairly complicated ballistics and armour system that can be tricky to learn for beginners

Your kit choice matters because you will become heavier the more stuff you stack on so it’s often a matter of balancing your weight and kit cost

I'm used to steep learning curves in games I'd say. I've played a few that requires hundreds of hours etc.

There are a total of 6 armour classes with 6 being the best, what the armour is made of also determines how effective it will be as the lower its durability goes the worse it will be at actually protecting you

there is no ingame help or tutorial or anything btw, but basically everyone uses external tools like the tarkov wiki to learn the maps, know where to go for quests and what to do and view stuff like ballistics of ammunition types

i think it took me 1000 hours to get to a level where i could go on any map and win more fights than i loose

its very timeconsuming xD

With limited playtime you’re going to always be at a disadvantage past the first week of wipe

yea u will fall behind and others will unlock higher power ammunition which will shred through your protection

Class 1 basically stops nothing and exists for head protection ricochet chances, class 2 is pretty bad as well but it will mitigate some very low pen rounds, class 3 will stop most rounds that a scav will carry, class 4 is fairly protective against non armour-piercing type rounds, class 5 will protect you from most rounds that aren’t super high pen and invalidates most small calibers, class 6 is very rare but is very effective at protecting you against even medium AP type rifle rounds
