I've heard bad things about the AI, and these debuffs make them nearly unbeatable

ye not exactly locked it but basically how scav aim works is imagine a circle around your pmc, the longer they have line of sight the smaller the circle becomes and the more accurate scavs become, so u need to get to cover and peek different angles to reset their aim

if I peek the same angle their aim will still be pretty accurate

so I imagine since the scav had a shotgun he could see me but had to get closer before he wanted to shoot at me

"Play as Scav" isn't always an answer if you don't know where the exits are and don't have a map pulled up (which is an issue in itself imo)

Like, your main character has their own skill levels, and those don't go away until a wipe. But do scavs have their own "copies" of the skills that can be advanced, and are saved after each raid? Would someone have to max all skills on PMC and scav to fully upgrade their characters?

I mostly use an AKS-74U with recoil mods that I feel most comfortable with and mostly either PS ammo or BS/PP ammo

It's not my aim that's bad, I play multiple other shooters like Apex and CSGO, my aim is spot on with most of my shots being perfectly on, I mostly find myself to be somewhat good, but I find myself struggling a lot with tarkov

i would say keep your weapon aimed out until you have a clear shot, or even start using lasers to help you stay on target at close to mid without wasting hand stam. one of the things i struggled with most was knowing when to aim and when to fire from the hip

Its also a timing dependant thing, after 15minutes theres probably less than half the pmcs left on the map, you can always opt to go hide in a bush not too far from your extract until late in the raid to minimize the chances you'll encounter someone else

You need some calmer raids where you dont chase pvp to get your money situation back, if you cant extract consistently when you go for pvp areas it might not be the smartest move to hit dorms with a mosin, you could hit woods, use a different gun like the Keder to leg meta or just run a scav killing kit and try to sneaky loot run for a few raids

one thing i learn is that if you are in a bulding, dont run like a mad man. walk more and you can have a better chance of hearing people creaping up. Also its good becuase at least you have your gun up and ready to fight back.

@jagged berry cuz he heard you running. Think about this. If you walk, it takes more time for you to get point A to B. Most people dont have a really good patient and they will starting moving up to either get close to your postion or do something. Most people not gonna sit there for like 10 minutes to wait for you. They will do something to make it faster because the longer you stay, the less you get out.

@tulip kettle what i learn is running is good for when you need to get to somewhere fast or accross open field. In building usually people walk. they dont run.

@tulip kettle he knows you running. Think about if you were him, if you hear someone running, you'd be standing still right? Because 99% that person dont know you there. But if you walk, it gives people the 50/50 chance of "why he walking? did he know i'm here or something?" and they start to thinking about doing something. If you walk, give you a better chance to fight in door because or inertia and time to take your character to raise your gun. 0.1s is enough for you to be dead if they run decent bullet lol~

also dorm is pretty small. If you walk there, you can catch him and react better because of peaker advandtage due to bad server. but since you using mosin which is not build for Dorm up close so you pretty much dead 99% unless you flick that shot in his face. If you thinking about trying to loot, bring riffle or something automatic.

if you trying to do quest like kill pmc with with a mosin or something, dorm is pretty tough if you are not a good aim-er

also thats a common angle that everyone literally hold in dorm.
