yes, the most noticable is factory (it has max 6 players), you go in as a 3 man squad, you kill 3 pmcs the first 3 minutes, now you know there are no other players for a few minutes (because player scav cannot spawn too early into the raid), after a while player scavs start to appear

and if you go in as a 5 man squad.... you have the chance to bully a solo player

its only worth it, if you enjoy doing it. You can also come back to these quest when you can use a Revolver with good ammo

the quest does not gate any other quests, and if you are on non-eod, the minus rep for jaeger does hurt a lot

yeah...not sure you want to do it. -1 rep for Jeager is a lot early on, if you are standard. Jeager quest are kinda bitchy so...when I was still on standard, I never done the quest because of the -1. Now they addred street tasks and you have more ways to gain rep, but the dog-sausage can gate you hard on jeager.
Even on Eod I skip the quest. So before you finisht the quest look at your Jeager rep and what quest you can do for him and consider, if the -1 is worth it.

you need it for a quest, if youwant to do the quest, keep it. If you play customs then keep it, since it is just more content. If you don't play customs and don't want to do the quest sell it.
You should make your money back, but it is also luck + you need to extract.

It's night vision, not thermal. The thermals cost about half a mil for a gun scope and 17 mil for the T-7 head mounted thermal

The cheaper nvgs are not great great vision too, its not as good sight as daytime up until you get the best ones (quad-nauds/spidereyes) and then its still about maybe daytime sight with a green tint. If you want people to show up as bright you need a thermal sight, they start becoming available at Jaeger ll.3 for about 450k EACH scope

because they don't like you (you stink)

and then the evil AI scavs follow the leader because they hate stinky scavs

Scav bosses are hostile untill 6 rep, if you have high rep they may give a warning (eg middle finger) before gunning you down. Only option is to run away
You'll still lose rep if you defend yourself because lol tarkov
