reserve imo is one of the hardest maps to extract from

I would argue Interchange to be the easiest of the 4, namely due to the extracts, and the somewhat lower level players who tend to play it, also you will receive some tasks for Interchange earlier on in the game. On reserve the extracts are a little more roundabout to get to and are arguably more dangerous, so pick your poison between the two. (Interchange still has issues with its extracts and camping, but reserve is definitely a little worse, you have to be careful with both.)
Streets is interesting, its extracts fall somewhere in the middle for accessibility and difficulty, they're not too hard, but the map's issues come in the form of performance problems for many players, if you can run the map well? I would actually really recommend learning this one pretty early. It has various smaller issues, and is rough around the edges, being a newer map and all, plus the size can be somewhat intimidating, but you shouldn't have too hard of a time finding places to hide and get to your desired locations quietly, and it has an extended raid time compared to other maps, sitting at 50 minutes, plenty of time to slow down and learn the map.
Finally, Lighthouse is weird, it can be a relatively modest experience if you keep your distance from the rogue camp, and the extracts are otherwise pretty safe and accessible, the players tend to be either well equipped, for the rogues, or somewhere in the mid to low gear range, if they're trying to rat out the rogues for an upgrade, or just loot the south side, where it is safer. I would recommend learning this map later on, it's not awful, but it takes time, and especially if you want to approach the rogues, will really require some trial and error. (It's very difficult to run solo as well, the player scavs are very plentiful, and will get their hands on rogue guns, making your life a living hell.)

tbh the more i learn streets the more i agree the loot is amazing, but due to the nature of the loot being mostly locked away inside buildings, theres almost no room for escapes, its a lot more luck based on if someone else is nearby or questing/looting it too, and a lot more player scavs there atm

lighthouse I feel you can exit situations easily, guarenteed extractions all over (only northern pass doesnt spawn 24/7 for player), and most are running to rogue camp leaving a lot of the loot.

You make many good points, but I stand by my argument, much of the reason I recommend streets earlier than lighthouse falls on tasks as well, the tasks on Streets are very generous with the xp they provide, and are numerous, lighthouse certainly has its fair share of tasks too, but many of them are just "kill thing" and if it requires going near the rogue camp, it can be a frustrating experience for the unfamiliar. The loot is excellent, yes, and the xp potential is great as well, yes, but it's just hard to survive on. What with the rogues being immensely difficult to fight against if you're not familiar with the routing, and have little fighting experience, the many, many player scavs, all potentially having rogue weapons and armor, making them extremely dangerous, and the PMCs, of course, themselves being a constant threat. Approaching the rogue camp is just a lot of things to think about all at once, and is undoubtably dangerous, and is usually best done pretty quickly, taking your time hurts your survival chances a lot with that map, it's just not beginner friendly, it fits a niche, it's a good map, and it's fun, but it's not somewhere beginners should be dwelling on before they even know interchange.

No reason not to, it's entirely your preference. If you would like to use it at some point, keep it, if you just want roubles, sell it. You might be able to sell some of it on the market, but some of their stuff will be too high level to list, so vendors will be your only option. Definitely check what of it is or isn't listable though, players will probably give you a better price for a lot of it.

Streets and Lighthouse would definitely be the more difficult options of the 4, streets is difficult to get your bearings on the first few times, and is pretty large, and lighthouse is just a generally challenging map. Interchange is definitely top priority, in my opinion, but reserve isn't a bad choice either, I don't think it's as important for tasking as interchange and streets are though, which is why I recommend those a little more, but if you're not ready for streets? I think Interchange, then Reserve, is a good choice, then you can choose to learn Lighthouse or Streets in whichever order, and at whichever pace you want.

USEC = Western US/UK, BEAR = Russian
You get some differences in starting gear but you'll lose about all of it before the week is out so don't worry too much about that.
Clothes and voicelines are different, and the rogues NPCs on Lighthouse are ex USEC in lore so they are friendly to USEC players untill fired uppon or if you trespass in their base.

On the website you can reset your progress and start with a new character if you later regret your choice but you make a new character every wipe anyways so don't bother with this.
When you have your character you can play either as him or as a randomly generated scav, scavs spawn in later in the raid and are mostly a risk free run as you don't lose anything when you die on your scav other than the timer. Scavs are friendly to one another and teamkilling is penalized so best to hold fire as a scav unless in self defence.

Quests are the best way to quickly progress and a lot of trader stuff is locked behind them.

Bookmark the wiki for a lot of usefull knowledge such as maps, ammo and quests. Especialy ammo as ammo stats matter a lot.

It'll tell you what quests and hideout nodes things are used for so you can decide if you want to keep them.

T4 protects against scavs at least, so you won't get bopped by them. PMCs will shred you either way most of the time, but t4 will protect against timmy's and low caliber rounds

Don't mix penetration ammo with damage ammo.
If you're going to use leg ammo, use leg ammo. CCI, Quakemaker, and RIP are great
PST and AP are fine if you're going the penetration route

9x19 is pretty bad for penetration though

.45 AP is great, but hard to get. I would craft that over 9x19 AP though
.45 FMJ also has pretty high blunt damage, so even if you don't pen you can kill people pretty quick if you aim for the chest
