customs is like dust 2 in cs:go, people have played thousands of hours on the map and know every angle. For looting other maps are definitely more worth then customs, but the loading time is short and the raids don't take to long, so its a balanced map. But again customs is a lot more pvp focused then other maps, because it has multiple "narrowings" that you move through, while moving around the map.

interchange is a horrible map to learn, if you are new. Worst spawns in the entire game (factory excluded), since you can (and often will) spawn right next to other people. Its very vertical. Funnel extracts. A LOT of angels.

Quests on interchange are relativly late, so not a map you need to run early.

The easiest map is Woods, the only thing complicated about the map is, that you have to figure out were you spawned (need a woods map opend on your second monitor). But the downside of woods is, that raids often take long with a lot of walking through areas which are basically empty

When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

if you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot

UMP-45s (buy Knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper) with FMJ is the best option, but the most costly,

Mosin from Prapor with FMJ or SP BT is great if you like bolt actions,

ok, so some but not all of the maps have theese little loot containers sunken into the ground and camuflaged at very random points, they have nice loot but since this wipe they have been changed so stuff you see on the wiki might be outdated, on some maps like woods or interchange their number has been sharply decreased and they seem to spawn semi often at some selcted locations while on other maps like shoreline they remain very consistent with only a few missing on any given raid

How does Scav/AI spawning work? If i have a quest to kill so many scavs for example, will more spawn after the game progresses? Or do they only spawn at the start? if they continually spawn, how often?

You need to reach ~level 60 and then get every item from the list in the quest
