I was in the warehouse I call Warehouse 4, you turn the power on for ZB-1013 in the building, I was on the side closest to old gas, on the second story watching the door by the railroad there because my friend was watching the opposite end, just to make sure no one came in. I hear 3 bangs, but they were distant, and nothing near me sounded like it was getting hit, so i figured it was someone shooting at someone else, then I was blackscreened immediately, with an AI scav claiming the kill thru my head/thorax.

The "customs" map is where I was at for a large

Scav spawns to my knowledge is in old gas, fortress, and the warehouse next to me, with the sniper scav being able to spawn all the way to the opposite end sitting on the warehouse, but I did not see him spawn in yet, because the side of the warehouse is glass so I wouldve been able to see him.

I've got my brightness up a bit to be able to see landscape outlines for navigation, so I'd mostly be using this for searching inside of buildings/underground where I can't see any outlines at all.

I always struggle when I get into bunkers or similar, and the NSPU with 3.5x+ magnification is unusable for indoors/underground looting

Also, found a dorm 105 and a new gas station key for customs, does this look like a bad rough route to take to hit stashes and fit in those two locations for their guaranteed safes spawns?

My point was that if you're gonna play night raids you shouldnt just go in with only NODS and rely solely on them because the chances are you are gonna run into points on the map that require you to take them off or lots of maps straight up dont require it unless you dont the map at all. Get good at running hidden stashes on a map with good sniper cover, if you find any good low risk keys check the wiki and see if there's a nice safe or similar behind it and then you can run the safes and stashes

This is the route I took that time, spawned just by sniper roadblock and kept to solid tree cover almost the entire route

Gas station was already cleared out, but nobody touched the registers or back rooms, I couldn't get into the locked rooms in dorms/gas station/checkpoint as a scav but I run almost the same route as PMC and have a few keys that I keep in alpha bo

I was lucky at the three stashes on the way from dorms and had no free slots by time I was sitting at gas station and contemplating extract

Otherwise I love power line compound for attachments and meds, the little stash next to blue fence there is usually good for me too

Scav bunker, great loot, usec camp, great loot, convoy, great loot, and stashes just all over the place up there.

And I've never run into players crossing over the central mountain patch and grabbing 2-6 stashes there. USEC camp is usually lots of contact.

I'm not sure if it is what you're talking about, but keep in mind that tarkov has momentum in your movements, so if you turn or move quickly you're going to overshoot because you can't just turn or stop on a dime like you can in call of duty.

Is that what you're referring to?

In that case it might be simply exactly what it looks like, your computer can't keep up and so the framerate dips. You can lower this effect at a potential hit to your overall performance by turning off mip streaming. Mip streaming basically makes it to where only the objects that are in your vision are loaded, so when you spin around quickly the game is trying to load in textures very quickly and it can't keep up. By turning this off it loads in your whole environment like any other game would.

-If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses. This cycle is great to simply build up lots of money while learning
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a laser and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Use practice mode
-Don't sprint everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route using a map and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep oriented and focused in-raid
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart (eft-ammo.com).
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, recording them and watching them back really helps improve
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

Bring a gun, ammo, armor, a backpack, a headset (people call these "ears") and meds

-Wear whatever armor you have, usually you start with a few PACA's. Double click on any armor to see it's stats, when comparing them you're just looking for the one with the best armor class.
-Grab any bag and earpiece
-When it comes to gun and ammo, always remember that ammo is way more important than guns, so choose guns based on what ammo you can buy.
Early on your best options are:
UMP-45s (buy Knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper) with FMJ is the best option, but the most costly,

Mosin from Prapor with LPS is great if you like bolt actions,

KEDR-B with PSV or PPSH with LRNPC are both good for close-range high-damage guns you can spray legs or face with.

If you can find good 545 or 762x39 then those are also options.

Meds
You can always double-click on a med item to see what it will do however, you want to bring enough to cover the 5 things that can happen to you.
1: Damage: This simply is damage to any part of your body. Each part of you has a different amount of HP. This is fixed by a medkit. There are many kinds of medkits, each will have a different amount of HP that they will restore and some will have other injuries that they can fix. (AI-2, CAR, IFAK, AFAK, Salewa, Grizzly)
2. Light bleed: This is slow Damage over time (DOT), has a chance to proc whenever you get shot, depending on the bullet. It's fixed using a bandage, as well as many medkits.
3. Heavy bleed: This is fast DOT, and functions very similarly. Some medkits can fix this, however, tourniquets are the cheapest and most available option. (Esmarch, CAT, Hemostat)
4. Fracture: When you take heavy damage you can get a fracture, which affects limbs differently. If your legs are fractured then you can't run or jump, if your arms then you can't aim without wobbling. It can be fixed using any splint, or fixed temporarily using painkillers.
5. Blackout: This happens when any limb has its HP reduced to 0. Functions the same as a fracture, but can only be fixed using a surgery kit (CMS, Surv12) or temporarily fixed with painkillers.

Try to have something to cover each of these options when going into a raid. It can range from just a medkit and painkillers, or an item to fix each injury. Up to you.

Correct, you can't take any loot out, but you won't lose anything. It all resets to how it was before you went in

Factory is a PvP grindhouse. Very bad place for learning anything other than close-range PvP. People often troll new players by sending them there

Good to learn early as a scav though

Because it's so small you can just extract immediately with your scav kit

Woods or Customs
Woods is harder to learn but safer.
Customs is easier to learn but more dangerous.
They provide a really good all-around experience between them.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

I would say find a good pace to roll with.

Too often do I find people in groups roll at the pace the leader goes at if they're new.

Or maybe they're too hasty to jump into a fight by W-keying.

Other than that learning a map would be another and finding a general route to stick with would help.
