Always bring to shoreline and I like bringing it to Customs as well. Very little food on those maps

Woods is good for new players as it's easy to avoid other players. No maps really favor newer players

Hey, could anyone give me some advice on this death? I was on my way to ZB-1014 extract and was wary of the military checkpoint area and trying to scan the horizon then all of a sudden i get sniped out of nowhere, after rewatching im still not sure where from. I dont see how else i couldve gotten more cover and im still having to reference the map occassionally to figure out where to go

im aware i couldve been sprinting, but i was just trying to scan the surroundings first, and i cant sprint all the time regardless, i normally try and keep >1/2 stamina for situations like that, but that's no use when its a bullet through my head

Ammo has 2 qualities that you should focus on - Damage and Penetration.
Damage is the damage done to unarmored parts of the target.
Penetration is the ability of an ammo type to get through particular tier of armor.
Both matter, and it's most important that you know what side of the spectrum your ammo leans.
So if you're using penetration forward ammo - you know you can aim for head and chest.
If you're using damage forward ammo, you should be aiming for legs, face, or other exposed areas.

For guns: I sell most everything at low levels and either buy UMP-45s (buy Black Knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper), 7.62x39 guns like SKS or VPO-136 to use with PS ammo if you can find it, the Mosin from Prapor if you like bolt actions, and the KEDR-B or PPSH from Prapor for close-range high-damage submachine guns that you can shoot legs with. The reason is because those guns have the best possible ammo you can use early on (except 762x39 PS which is very common to find on scavs).

My favorite is the UMP-45 before level 15, easy to control, easy to modify, and does a lot of blunt damage through armor if you don't hit headshots.

As a low-level you're going to get shit on all the time
It's how it works. Usually the first thing to focus on learning isn't PvP at all, it's how to survive a raid - this is often by just avoiding other people

-If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money, you can't lose anything. Practice mode is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses. This cycle is great to simply build up lots of money while learning- which makes online PMCing far easier.
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a flashlight and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route using a map and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep oriented and focused in-raid
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat - it often gives you a better chance to hit back later.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, and if you can learn that lesson the death is a lot less frustrating.
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

I need to do delivery from the past, eliminate 8/15 scavs on woods, eliminate 7 USECS and hand over their dogtags. Ironically i've killed 5 but the only 5 dogtags i have are all bear. Gunsmith part 4 which i still need to find a sks compatible suppressor for, 1 more pmc kill with a pistol, 2 more morphines. Killing all the bosses, 5 scav kills >40m with a bolt action, 4 more scavs with no body armour on woods

Yeah, it takes a while. You have to get used to it otherwise you'll be lost again unless you play with someone who knows the map.

2. Try to guess which landmark it is in Mapgenie
3. Test your theory: So if you see the landmark in mapgenie has a road or a large boulder or some feature to the north, pull out your compass and walk north and see if that feature is there in-game.
4. If you do see it, you know where you are. If you don't see it, try again.

This is all easier in practice mode as you have no risk while doing it. Would be wise to start out there and practice killing some scavs, then try as a scav, then finally go in as your PMC.

if you keep playing as PMC you're going to slowly level up one way or the other
luckily looting gives EXP, and surviving gives you a bonus

Find a budget kit you like and ram your head against the wall
If you know you can always fallback to your scav to make money, then you can gain confidence and stave off getting demoralized
The only way, and I mean technically the only way to learn player behavior on maps is dying a lot. It's just how you learn the map.
Keep at it, and you'll notice significant improvements with time. Don't hop between maps too much, you'll want to pass through the 'dying all the time' stage as quick as you can for at least one map, but it's not optional.

For budget gun I'd suggest:
UMP-45s (buy Black Knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper),
7.62x39 guns like SKS or VPO-136 to use with PS ammo if you can find it,
Mosin from Prapor if you like bolt actions,
KEDR-B or PPSH from Prapor for close-range high-damage submachine guns that you can shoot legs or face with.
The reason is because those guns have the best possible ammo you can use early on (except 762x39 PS which is very common to find on scavs).

Then just try to find level 4 armored rigs on scavs, they're very common.

-Tarkov raids work in rough stages. The first 5-7 minutes are the least predictable in my experience, try not to be too vulnerable then. For the next 5-7 minutes the hotspots will be active. After that the routes from hotspots to extracts become more popular. Finally the last stage is when player scavs come in. Plan your route accordingly, timing matters. Listen to gunshots and try to predict where they might be going based on the time.
-Hipfire is exceptional, hipfiring (especially nice with flashlight/laser) is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Don't be running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint. (Don't rat too much)
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson. Recording them and watching them back really helps improve

id say the best area to snipe scavs with iron is one of the rock inbetween the USEC stop and the scavhouse on woods

if ur lucky, you can have two by the SUV (they run back and forth) and about 3 to 6, to quite a few are hidden inside the forest near ZB-1014
