I don't think factory is a very good place to get your bearings in, it's generally associated with fast paced combat, and in my experience at a relatively low reward. Most will suggest Customs, and Woods, as on average, you will find lower level and less equipped players on that map, and it is also where many early tasks take place, many say moving onto Interchange afterwards is a pretty good idea as well, and I would recommend trying to figure out Reserve, Labs, and Lighthouse a little later down the line.
